American Eagle Embraer E-145 from Miami with 25 passengers left the runway when the main landing gear collapsed on arrival at Grand Bahama International Airport on Saturday, with no injuries reported.

The information was disclosed by local media that showed pictures of the plane, in which you can see how the landing gear collapsed when it touched down in the air end of the island.
The aircraft, except for the landing gear, did not suffer any other damage to its structure and is awaiting examination by airline technicians.
The incident comes at a time when Bahamian authorities are trying to progressively open the borders to tourism for the arrival of travelers in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, one of the main sources of foreign exchange for this territory, part of the Caribbean Community (Caricom).
