The passenger airplane MC-21-310 equipped with Russian engines PD-14 has completed its first flight, informed the Rostec corporation this Tuesday.
“The test flight of the MC-21-300 airplane equipped with the new Russian engines PD-14 was made this December 15, 2020 at the Irkutsk Plant airfield,” said Rostec.

During the flight, the operation of the engines, the stability of the aircraft, the sensitivity and all the systems of the plane were tested, indicated the Russian news agency TASS.
The MC-21 is a medium-range passenger aircraft. The version of the base aircraft with American PW1400 engines is known as the MC-21-300. Customers of the aircraft are expected to select the engine for flight operation. Future versions are also expected to be produced with a capacity of 132 to 165 seats and up to 250 seats.
