Airbus beat 560 aircraft delivery goal for 2020.

Airbus delivered more than 560 aircraft for 2020, according to tracking data and air industry sources, putting it on track to surpass rival Boeing as the world’s largest manufacturer for the second year in a row, Reuters reports.

The European aerospace group reached an informal target of 560 deliveries, based on figures that are still being audited, added the sources.

Airbus, which is expected to announce orders and deliveries for 2020 in the coming days, declined to comment before formal publication.

Total Airbus deliveries are expected to have declined by about a third this year, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on air travel and airlines.

But the European manufacturer has an unbeatable advantage over Boeing, which has delivered 118 aircraft between the beginning of 2020 and the end of November.
