Alaska Airlines will begin commercial flights with its first Boeing 737 MAX from Seattle on Monday.
After taking delivery of its first two MAXs in late January, the U.S. airline set March 1 as the date for entry into service.

The MAX 9, registration N913AK, configured to carry 16 passengers in Business Class, 24 in Premium and 138 in Economy, will take off from Seattle-Tacoma at 6:30 a.m. for San Diego Airport, then fly at 3:15 p.m. to Los Angeles. The airline’s second MAX 9 is also scheduled to enter service in March.
Alaska Airlines, which in December increased its order to 120 MAX aircraft including options, expects to have 13 aircraft this year, 43 by the end of 2022 and 56 by the end of 2023, with twelve aircraft to be delivered in 2024.
