Supporting professional sports as a way to develop future generations, Copa Airlines joined the group of official sponsors of the players of the Pastoras de Lara Club, members of the Venezuelan women’s basketball team, who participated in the II South American Women’s League, which took place from March 16 to 21 this year in the city of Medellin, Colombia.

This sponsorship was made possible after the recent reactivation of the airline’s operations in Venezuela (already flying from the airports of Maiquetia, Valencia and Maracaibo), connecting passengers with the rest of the continent through the Hub of the Americas, located in Panama City.
The practice of any sporting discipline fosters values relevant to society such as responsibility, commitment and teamwork, representing a source of pride for the athletes themselves, their families, their communities and their countries. “That is why we consider it valuable to support the Venezuelan Basketball Federation and its young basketball players, to whom we wish the greatest success in demonstrating the highest professional performance in this important sports league,” said Roberto Pulido, Copa Airlines’ General Manager in Venezuela.
