Southwest Airlines said Thursday it will reinstate another 382 pilots as airlines prepare for a vaccine-led recovery in travel demand this summer.
The airline said in a statement that pilots would return to active duty on July 1.

The carrier said earlier this month that it will reinstate 209 pilots and more than 2,700 flight attendants beginning June 1 to support its summer schedule.
With the latest move, all of Southwest’s captains would have returned from the airline’s voluntary furlough program.
However, about 500 first officers are still participating in the program, the airline said.
