Southwest Airlines is expanding its presence in Houston beginning Monday with its return to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
The Dallas-based carrier announced last year that it would relaunch its service at the larger of Houston’s two commercial airports after a 16-year absence.

The return to George Bush Airport adds to Southwest’s already extensive presence at William P. Hobby Airport.
The airline will offer 15 daily departures from IAH’s Terminal A, according to a news release. Destinations include Dallas Love Field, Chicago Midway, Denver, Nashville and New Orleans.
Southwest first operated in Houston through IAH as part of its original Texas network in the early 1970s and again between 1980 and 2005, after the airline opened at William P. Hobby Airport.
