ITA Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for the purchase of 28 new aircraft, the company said Thursday, adding that the first new ones will start flying in the first three months of next year.

The aircraft purchased will be 10 A330neo, 11 A320neo and seven A220.
The airline has also signed an agreement with Air Lease Corp for the supply of 31 Airbus aircraft.
The new airline, which will begin operations in mid-October, will start with 52 Airbus aircraft inherited from Alitalia.
