Among the new regulations established by the local authorities, as of September 16, negative COVID-19 testing will not be required for passengers with a complete vaccination schedule approved by the WHO, FDA or EMA (Pfizer, Moderna, Sinofarm, AstraZeneca, Johnson vaccines), 14 days after their last dose.
If passengers are not vaccinated or have incomplete the vaccination schedule, they must present a negative antigen or PCR test for COVID-19, performed no more than 72 hours prior to arrival or, failing that, a COVID-19 test that can be performed at the Tocumen Airport, the cost of which must be covered by the traveler. Those persons with negative results are exempted from the preventive quarantine.
As for passengers under 12 years of age, they are exempt from presenting the negative COVID-19 test if their parents, guardians or caregivers comply with the aforementioned requirements.
It is important to note that Panamanian airport authorities will require all travelers to present the QR Code, as well as the health affidavit, which are obtained after registering on the web page www.panamadigital.gob.pa.
