Delta will fly between New York and Stockholm in 2022.

Delta Air Lines announced Friday that it will return to Sweden in the summer of 2022, with daily nonstop service between New York-JFK and Stockholm.

Flights will begin June 1 and will offer connections from across the United States at Delta’s JFK hub.

Delta will invest US$1.2 billion in Aeromexico, Latam Airlines and Virgin Atlantic.

With the addition of Stockholm to its 2022 route map, Delta will have more than a 100% increase in capacity on European routes next year compared to summer 2021. In total, the airline plans to operate up to 70 daily flights to 21 destinations in Europe from 10 U.S. airports next summer.

“Since reopening the U.S. to international visitors last month, we have seen an increase in travel demand, with many already planning their 2022 summer vacation,” said Nicolas Ferri, Delta’s vice president – EMEAI. “We look forward to bringing our award-winning service and new inflight experience back to Sweden, as well as facilitating more travel and trade between our nations through this service.”
