The president of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, met with the general manager of Qatar Airways to present him with “a business plan” that will enable the company to include the South American country among its destinations.
This was stated by the president at a press conference after his arrival in Uruguay following a three-day tour of Doha, reported EFE, where he went to strengthen relations between the two countries and to seek investment for the country.

“We left him a business plan previously drafted and, in the words of the company’s CEO, we are going to advance in a plan to see if we can have some kind of connectivity with this airline, which is one of the most important in the world”, highlighted Lacalle Pou.
Uruguay and Qatar also signed “an agreement on mutual exemption of entry visa requirements” between citizens of both countries to facilitate the movement of both Qataris and Uruguayan nationals, as well as companies and investors.
