Air Lease Corporation (ALC) announced Friday long-term lease agreements for nine Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with Aeromexico. The aircraft, consisting of two new 737-8s and seven 737-9s, are scheduled for delivery between July 2022 and August 2023 from ALC’s backlog with Boeing.
The deal comes after Aeromexico said last week it would spend $5 billion over the next five years on upgrades, including renewing its fleet to reach 147 aircraft by the end of the year.

“Air Lease Corporation is Aeromexico’s largest lessor, and we are pleased to expand our relationship with the airline with these nine Boeing 737 aircraft leases,” said Steven Udvar-Házy, Air Lease Corporation CEO.
“Aeromexico is once again pleased to partner with ALC to help modernize our fleet with new fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly Boeing aircraft in 2022 and 2023,” said Andres Conesa, CEO of Aeromexico.
