Air Canada announced Wednesday a strategic expansion of its South Pacific schedule with the return of a daily flight to Sydney and the resumption of services to Brisbane and Auckland.
The airline’s flights to Australia and New Zealand operate from its transpacific hub at Vancouver International Airport, which the carrier has built to conveniently connect its international network with its extensive North American network.

Flights on the Vancouver-Brisbane route resume on July 1, and Vancouver-Auckland on November 10. Flights to Sydney will begin operating daily from May.
“Air Canada is consolidating its market-leading position as the airline offering the most service between Canada and the South Pacific. We are accelerating the re-establishment of our Australian and New Zealand routes to respond to the travel backlog between our countries as borders reopen,” said Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Senior Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management.
