This Wednesday PLAY airline reached an important milestone in its history by inaugurating flights from Keflavík (Iceland) to Baltimore/Washington International Airport (USA).
With this inaugural flight begins the next chapter in PLAY’s history in which passengers from North America and Europe will be transported across the Atlantic Ocean with Iceland as their hub.
→ Icelandic airline PLAY fly to Orlando starting in September.
Baltimore/Washington International Airport will be the airline’s first destination in the U.S. In May, it will have its inaugural flight to Boston’s Logan Airport and in June to New York.
“We have been waiting for this day for a long time and are ecstatic with joy now that it has finally arrived. Transatlantic flights will be the backbone of PLAY’s operations and it was a huge project to establish a connection on a new continent. But now we see the fruits of our labor, a well-done, reliable and ambitious flight plan. We already feel great interest from travelers and I am truly amazed to witness the resilience that my colleagues at PLAY possess. Thanks to them we can celebrate this milestone in our company’s history and look forward to exciting times ahead,” says Birgir Jónsson, CEO of PLAY.
