Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has launched production of 20 narrow-body Tu-214 aircraft to replace Boeing and Airbus. the corporation’s head, Yury Slyusar, told TASS on Wednesday.
“In the near future, we have to increase (the pace of production – TASS commented). We have already put 20 Tu-214s into production.”

An official representative of United Aircraft Corporation clarified that this would be the Tu-214 production schedule for the next few years.
UAC also plans to increase the pace of production of IL-96 long-haul aircraft and IL-76 due to interest from companies, Slyusar added.
