Volaris announced on Tuesday that between August and September it will open 10 new routes from the recently inaugurated Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA), located some 45 kilometers from Mexico City.
It also announced that in July it will restart operations at Toluca International Airport (AIT), also located in the central State of Mexico, with six routes.
Volaris’ offer from AIFA, where it flies to Tijuana and Cancun, will add the cities of Acapulco, Guadalajara, Huatulco, La Paz, Merida, Mexicali, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Escondido and Los Cabos.

While from Toluca, some 50 kilometers from the capital, it will fly to Tijuana, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Guadalajara, Los Cabos and Huatulco.
“The Valley of Mexico has a potential market of 30 million travelers, who will be able to travel to the nearest airport, reducing time, distance and costs,” said Volaris CEO Enrique Beltranena in a statement issued from Acapulco, where the 46th edition of the Tianguis Turístico is being held.
Beltranena said that Volaris will offer approximately one million seats per month in the Valle de Mexico metropolitan area: Mexico City International Airport (AICM), AIFA and AIT.
