The president of the airline Volaris, Enrique Beltranena, requested an investigation into a video circulating on social media showing a Volaris plane attempting to land on a runway where there was another aircraft at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
The incident involved flight VOC 4069, which was to take off for Guatemala, and flight VOI 799, which was to land on runway 05L from Mazatlán.
On Twitter, the airline’s CEO noted that the investigation will be conducted by the Operational Safety area, as well as the aeronautical authorities.

“Following the protocols, I immediately requested an investigation to our Operational Safety area, as well as to the aeronautical authorities,” he said.
He added that the pilot followed the protocols so no passenger or crew member was at risk.
Beltranena confirmed that the event was reported on the night of Saturday, May 7 at Mexico City International Airport.
“Teams, crews and warning systems are prepared daily to face similar situations that do not depend on airlines, and that can happen in aviation,” he said.
A video is circulating in social networks showing a Volaris aircraft attempting to land on a runway that had already been assigned to another aircraft of the same airline for takeoff.
The director of the Mexican Airspace Navigation Service (Seneam), Víctor Manuel Hernández Sandoval, resigned this weekend amid a wave of complaints from pilots and industry members for alleged “risky incidents” in the airspace of the Valley of Mexico.
