The main unions of the Italian airline industry called on Wednesday a strike of pilots and flight attendants of the companies Ryanair, Malta Air and Crew Link for June 25 to demand “decent labor contracts”.
The protest, called by the FILT CGIL and Uiltrasporti unions, will last 24 hours that day and is part of a coordinated mobilization throughout Europe with crew members in Spain, Portugal, France and Belgium for several days in June, EFE reported.

The aim is to demand “finally decent work contracts that guarantee adequate conditions and salaries at least in line with the minimum wages provided for” in the Italian air transport agreement.
The unions warned that, since the strike will be coordinated with the aforementioned countries, “probable incidents” are foreseen in the connections of the Ryanair group, with Malta Air as a subsidiary, especially between the countries of the strike.
The strike comes after another strike on June 8 at Ryanair, Easyjet, Volotea and ITA airlines, which caused the cancellation of 360 flights in Italy, just at the start of the summer tourist season.
