British Airways will cancel 10,300 flights in the next four months

British Airways, which has already reduced its flights in recent months, reported on Wednesday that it will cancel 10,300 more between now and October due to lack of personnel.

“The airline industry continues to face significant challenges,” British Airways said in a statement sent to AFP.

According to the document, the company wants to offer more “certainties” to its customers with a less ambitious flight program. The day before, it had already announced hundreds of cancellations for the summer season.

In total, the company reduced its flight program for the boreal summer by 13%. Before the covid-19 pandemic, the company operated about 850 flights a day.

The flight cancellations announced on Wednesday only affect short-haul flights between the beginning of August and the end of October.
