Lufthansa and the German pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit reached an agreement to increase the pay of the airline’s aviators.
The pilots will receive an increase in their monthly basic salary of €490 each in two stages – retroactively effective from August 1, 2022, and from April 1, 2023.
The agreement especially benefits entry-level salaries. An entry-level co-pilot will receive about 20% additional base pay, while a captain in the last grade will receive 5.5%.

The agreement also includes a broad peace obligation until June 30, 2023. Strikes are excluded during this period. This gives customers and employees planning security.
Both negotiating parties will continue their constructive exchange on various topics during this time. Lufthansa and Vereinigung Cockpit have agreed to keep additional topics and discussions confidential.
The agreement is still subject to detailed formulation and approval by the responsible bodies.
