Icelandair announced Friday that it will operate a new non-stop route between Reykjavik (Iceland) and Detroit (USA) from May 18 to October 30, 2023.
The route will operate four weekly frequencies (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

Icelandair’s flight time from Michigan’s largest city to Iceland’s capital is approximately six hours, with connections available at Keflavík International Airport to more than 25 destinations in Iceland, Greenland, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and continental Europe.
“Icelandair’s Detroit service will allow passengers to travel to and from Europe on new, fuel-efficient aircraft with modern amenities, including Wi-Fi and in-flight entertainment available to all passengers,” said Bogi Nils Bogason, president and CEO of Icelandair Group. “These new flights will not only help meet the demands of a growing Detroit, but will also offer more options for business and leisure travelers.
