The terminal, which cost US$2.7 billion and has been under construction for more than four years, will have 33 gates and is 20% larger than the previous terminal.
The space features four new VIP lounges and several restaurants in an area of approximately 30,000 square meters.
The opening of Newark’s Terminal A comes five months after Delta Air Lines’ new Terminal C officially opened its doors to travelers at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
