Air Europa signs codeshare agreement with Brazilian Azul

Air Europa has signed a code-share agreement with Brazilian airline Azul that will allow it to facilitate connectivity for its passengers from the international airports of Sao Paulo and Salvador de Bahia to nine other cities in Brazil, the company announced Monday in a statement.

Thanks to this agreement, which expands the alliance that both companies have maintained since 2014, Air Europa will deploy its code on flights operated by Azul from Sao Paulo-Guarulhos international airport to the Brazilian cities of Cuiabá, Confins, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Recife and Santos Dumont.

Azul Linhas Aéreas orders three more Airbus A330neo aircraft.

Air Europa will also take its passengers from Salvador de Bahia’s international airport to the Brazilian cities of Porto Seguro, Congonhas, Confins, Recife and Campinas.

For its part, Azul will place its code on flights operated by Air Europa between Madrid and Lisbon, which will reinforce “its international connectivity expansion plan”.

Air Europa believes that this alliance will allow it to “develop and expand” its presence in Brazil’s air connectivity, since its passengers will have better options when planning their flights and advantages such as easy ticket purchase or connections with minimum waiting time, among others.
