A connectivity problem is affecting Iberia and Iberia Express systems this Saturday, which has hindered check-in and boarding, and is impacting the operation of its flights, the company said in a statement.
To mitigate this situation, check-in and boarding are being done manually. Staff has been reinforced to speed up these procedures, which has reduced delays, which until 11:30 a.m. were around one hour on average.
Iberia and Iberia Express are scheduled to operate more than 245 flights this Saturday, of which three have been cancelled this morning and another two for the afternoon. Eighty-one percent of affected customers have been offered alternative travel today, and the rest will be able to fly tomorrow.
The airline indicated that the entire operation with the USA and Latin America that is concentrated between 12:00 and 13:00 has also been able to be carried out as scheduled.
“The Iberia Group apologizes to all affected customers and thanks its employees for their involvement in today’s operation. All areas of the company are working to restore automated check-in and boarding and recover the punctuality of the operation,” said the company.
