Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) has received the green light from the regulatory body to launch its ARJ21 regional aircraft passenger-to-freighter conversion program.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) validated on January 6, 2023 the conversion program submitted by the local aircraft manufacturer, which completed the first ARJ21-700F after launching the program in May 2020.

Test flights have already started with the aircraft, registered as B-3329 (built in 2018 and initially delivered to Chengdu Airlines).
COMAC must now obtain the airworthiness certificate for the aircraft before it enters service with YTO Cargo Airlines.
The ARJ21-700F will be capable of carrying up to 10 tons of cargo.
