UK regional airline Flybe ceased operations
British regional airline Flybe ceased operations Saturday for the second time in three years, canceling all flights and laying off 276 workers.
Flybe, which operated scheduled flights from Belfast, Birmingham and Heathrow to the whole of the UK, Amsterdam and Geneva, has gone into receivership, a form of protection from creditors.

“Flybe has ceased trading and all flights have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.”
A spokesman for administrators Interpath Advisory said some 75,000 Flybe customers had future bookings that would now not be honored.
Based in Birmingham, Flybe operated flights on 21 routes to 17 destinations in the United Kingdom and the European Union using a fleet of eight leased Q400 turboprop aircraft.
