A terminal at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) will remain closed Friday due to a power outage, disrupting some flights at one of the world’s busiest airports.
The outage began Thursday in Terminal 1, which serves several international airlines, including Air France and Lufthansa, Reuters reported.
As of 8:30 a.m. Friday, the JFK airport website showed 58 delayed or canceled flights. About half were international.

“Travelers should check with their carriers for flight status before going to the airport,” JFK said on Twitter.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which owns JFK, is working with the terminal operator to restore flight operations as soon as possible, it added.
The airport said it was working to accommodate affected flights using some of the airport’s other four terminals.
