Avianca Express and the Colombian Association of Flight Attendants (ACAV) announced on Wednesday that, after several discussions, they reached an agreement that will strengthen the economic benefits of Avianca Express cabin crew members, who will now enjoy the same conditions as the cabin crew members of the rest of the passenger airlines that are part of the Group.

“Being an Avianca for all also means seeking better conditions for all our employees. What has been achieved between Avianca Express and ACAV today is in addition to the different conventions and agreements we have reached in recent years with our workers’ organizations, always based on social dialogue and trust to establish and maintain long-term labor relations. Let this good news be an opportunity to recognize and thank them for their work”, said Paola Villota, Avianca’s Vice President of Human Resources.

Likewise, María Cristina Cadavid, president of ACAV added that: “Thanks to constant dialogue, joint work and willingness to reach agreements that benefit workers, we have signed an agreement with the Company in order to standardize the salary scheme and extra-legal benefits of Avianca Express cabin crew members with Avianca S.A. crew members”.

The agreement is part of the general framework of what will be the collective bargaining agreement that will govern between ACAV and Avianca Express, which will be valid for three (3) years. This agreement includes improvements in the extra-legal benefits for the more than 60 crew members that are part of Avianca Express, the airline with which Avianca connects regions of Colombia such as Cúcuta, Barrancabermeja, Yopal, Florencia, Ibagué, Neiva, Popayán and Villavicencio.
