KLM introduces new World Business Class seats on Boeing 777s

KLM reported Thursday that it has begun introducing the new World Business Class seats on its fleet of Boeing 777 aircraft.

These wider seats feature a sliding door that ensures greater comfort and privacy. Thanks to several innovations, the seats and their accessories are 10-15% lighter than others in this market segment, thus contributing to the company’s sustainability goals.

For the new World Business Class, which is already used on Boeing 787 aircraft, KLM chose the Jamco Venture seat in a 1-2-1 arrangement, i.e. with direct aisle access for each passenger.

All of the airline’s Boeing 777 aircraft, both B777-200s and B777-300s, will be equipped with the revamped World Business Class seats. These aircraft will also be equipped with the latest Premium Comfort cabin. The conversion is expected to be completed within one year.

KLM has commissioned the redesign of the World Business Class seats based on research conducted among its customers and which offer:

“Based on extensive customer and competitor research, we have improved the World Business Class seating so that customers can enjoy even more privacy and comfort during the flight. The seats have been improved in terms of design, technology and sustainability criteria,” commented Boet Kreiken, EVP Customer Experience at KLM.
