LATAM Airlines led the Brazilian airline industry in May 2023, according to consolidated data released by ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency).
During the month, the airline achieved the highest share (in RPK) in the domestic (37.11%) and international (21.99%) markets in Brazil. The index measured by ANAC considers the number of passengers per kilometer transported by the airline over the total number of passengers per kilometer transported by all airlines operating in the country.
LATAM also recorded a 27% growth in its domestic passenger numbers in Brazil in May compared to the same month in 2022. In total, the company transported 2.6 million people on domestic flights in the country last month, surpassing the 2 million recorded in the same period last year.

More efficient and competitive, LATAM now flies to its record 55 destinations in Brazil, having opened at least 11 new destinations in the country since 2021: Jericoacoara, Juazeiro do Norte, Vitória da Conquista, Petrolina, Presidente Prudente, Montes Claros, Juiz de Fora, Cascavel, Sinop, Caxias do Sul and Passo Fundo. In addition, it extended its codeshare agreement with Voepass in 2023.
In the international market, LATAM is the airline that most connects Brazil with the world, currently representing more than 60% of international flight passengers in the South American giant, according to ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency).
The airline flies from Brazil to 21 direct international destinations (on 28 routes operated from the airports of São Paulo/Guarulhos, Rio de Janeiro/Galeão, Brasília, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis and Fortaleza) and connecting flights to 67 other destinations in all continents, except Asia. Also in 2023, it will start the Foz do Iguaçu-Lima, Belo Horizonte-Santiago, Santiago-Melbourne, Lima-Aruba, Lima-Atlanta, Guarulhos-Johannesburg and Guarulhos-Los Angeles routes, the latter being the first effective delivery in the Brazilian market of its Joint Venture with Delta Air Lines.
As a result, LATAM leads the Brazilian airline industry as of 2021, according to ANAC. The company transports an average of 30 million passengers annually in Brazil in the domestic market and 3 million in the international market. It operates an average of 700 daily flights in the country, of which 650 are domestic operations and 50 international.
