Hong Kong carrier Cathay Pacific Airways announced Thursday its intention to purchase up to 32 Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft to upgrade its fleet, bringing the company’s new aircraft deliveries to more than 70.
“These aircraft incorporate the latest technological enhancements to offer our customers a quieter, more comfortable and fuel-efficient journey,” said Ronald Lam, Chief Executive Officer of Cathay Group.

The airline announced that it will take delivery of these 32 new Airbus single-aisle aircraft between now and 2029, without disclosing whether they will be purchased or leased.
Cathay has already taken delivery of 13 of its initial order of 32 A321neo it placed in 2017, and the new purchase will add up to another 32 Airbus single-aisle aircraft to the Group’s fleet, Lam said.
