Egyptair is preparing to relaunch its services to Los Angeles for the first time in nearly 25 years. In a recent Department of Transportation (DoT) application, the airline intends to expand its transatlantic services from Cairo International Airport to Southern California.
The last time the company served Los Angeles was 24 years ago, following the tragic crash of Egyptair Flight 990 on October 31, 1999.

Egyptair currently operates flights to four destinations in North America: Newark, New York, Washington and Toronto. The airline is currently the only direct air link between Egypt and North America, with the exception of Air Canada’s seasonal services from Montreal.
If approved, the airline could relaunch flights to Los Angeles in October 2023, in time for the winter travel season, Simple Flying reported.
