China Southern Airlines retires Airbus A380 from its fleet
China Southern Airlines has officially retired the Airbus A380 from its fleet, some 12 years after the carrier took delivery of its first superjumbo.
The airline’s half-year financial report released this week confirmed that the last two A380s have left the carrier’s fleet.

At its peak, the airline had five A380s, operating on domestic services along with routes to Los Angeles, Sydney and Amsterdam.
The news comes as Lufthansa this week confirmed plans to reactivate two more of its Airbus A380s.
Etihad returned the first of its four A380s to service in July, and last month Qantas announced plans to return the last of its ten superjumbos to service.
