“Bilbao is a key airport for Volotea and our first Spanish base by volume of seats offered. We have been committed to this airport for more than 11 years and are committed to the region. Volotea will offer 700,000 seats from Bilbao by 2023, connecting the city with 23 destinations in 6 different countries. We are very pleased to make the first flight between Bilbao and France operated by Volotea a reality,” said Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea’s Chief Strategy Officer.
This year, the airline has announced 10 new routes from Bilbao. In March the routes to Florence and Rome started operating; in May flights to Marrakech, Faro, Santorini and Olbia were inaugurated; from today you can fly to Lyon; in October flights to Tenerife South and Gran Canaria will start; and finally, Bilbao residents will have a direct connection to Paris Orly from November.
Continuing with the strategy of connecting with direct flights, as well as with the connectivity with the islands and the recovery of international routes, with the addition of this new destination, Volotea connects Bilbao with 23 destinations in six countries: France, Greece, Morocco, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
