Avianca announced Friday that it will reactivate its direct route between San Salvador and Panama City starting December 15, 2023, thus reinforcing its position as one of the main operators connecting the Central American region.
The airline will make available more than 2,500 seats per week for travel between the two destinations on Airbus A320 aircraft, which will offer Premium, Plus and Economy seating.
The route will operate a daily flight departing from San Salvador at 11:50 a.m., landing in Panama at 2:40 p.m. (local time). It will take off from Tocumen Airport at 15:35, arriving in the Salvadoran capital at 16:35 (local time).
“We are very excited to expand our network of destinations and reactivate direct flights between Panama and El Salvador. This is a strategic route for us, because we offer travelers access to tourism, business, culture, commerce, among others, while contributing to the connectivity of the country with the Central American region,” said Alex Benitez, Avianca’s vice president for Central America and the Andean region.
During this year, avianca has expanded its network of destinations in El Salvador with 6 additional routes to Boston, Orlando, Cancun, Las Vegas, Madrid, Oakland and now, with this reopening, the possibility of direct travel to Panama.
