Satena suspends flights to Caracas and announces new Bogota-Valencia route

Colombian airline Satena announced that it will cease operating its flights between Bogotá and Caracas, to be replaced by a new route between Bogotá and Valencia (Venezuela).

The Bogotá-Caracas route, which began regular flights on March 3, 2023, will operate its last flight this Sunday, October 15.

“The Colombian airline is taking steps to open a new air route that will connect Bogota, Colombia, with Valencia, Venezuela, starting in November 2023. This new route will aim to expand connectivity between these countries, facilitating greater mobility and strengthening ties between the regions,” the company said in a statement.

The new Bogota-Valencia route will be inaugurated in November and will operate twice weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays) in Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft with capacity for 50 passengers.

“At SATENA, our mission is to go beyond expectations, expand our routes and reach new destinations. The opening of this new route to Valencia, Venezuela, will represent a significant step in our mission to offer safe and convenient air connections to our passengers,” added Brigadier General Óscar Zuluaga, President of Satena.

Tickets for the new route are not yet available for sale.
