Dubai Airshow: SunExpress, Royal Jordanian y Royal Air Maroc order jets from Boeing

SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, announced Monday that it has once again chosen the 737 MAX to continue its strong growth. With the commitment to acquire up to 90 aircraft, announced at the Dubai Air Show, the airline will more than double its fleet over the next decade. The agreement includes 28 737-8 and 17 737-10 aircraft, with the possibility of acquiring up to 45 additional MAX aircraft.

This new commitment from SunExpress will add to the airline’s previous order for 42 737-8s, nine of which have already been delivered.

Royal Jordanian announced an order for four 787-9 Dreamliners and reconfirmed an earlier order for two 787-9s, bringing its backlog for the model to six.

Royal Air Maroc also joined Boeing’s order fest on the first day of the Dubai Airshow, confirming an order for two additional 787-9s. The airline currently operates nine Dreamliners: five B787-8s and four B787-9s.
