A few weeks away from its first year and a half of operations in Peru, JetSMART surpassed its goal of transporting 2 million passengers. This is another significant milestone for the airline, evidencing its rapid consolidation as a key player in the country’s air market.

Since the start of operations in June 2022, the airline has transported 2,002,753 passengers on more than 12,500 flights on local and international routes, with an average occupancy rate of 85%.

Francesca Luna, JetSMART’s General Manager in Peru, emphasized the relevance of this achievement for the airline: “We have doubled the number of passengers in half a year, that is, from one million that we announced in May to two million to date. We are very happy with the year-end results and grateful for the trust and support of our passengers, especially those more than 209 thousand first-time flyers who have found in us an affordable, quality, fast and safe alternative”.

JetSMART inaugurates direct flights between Lima and Medellín

This important achievement is complemented by the arrival in December of the sixth aircraft to join JetSMART’s fleet in Peru. It is also in line with its strategy of sustained growth and strengthening in the Peruvian market. “With this new aircraft we will reinforce our growth plans, such as the upcoming expansion of frequencies on several of our domestic routes and the start of new international routes to Medellín, Cartagena, Cúcuta in Colombia and the most recent ones to Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador, which will begin operations next year in March and April, respectively,” said the executive.

JetSMART currently operates eight domestic destinations from Lima to Cusco, Arequipa, Piura, Cajamarca, Tarapoto, Trujillo and Chiclayo, in addition to its direct route from Cusco to Arequipa.

In the international market, the airline offers routes from Lima and Trujillo to Santiago de Chile (Chile), and from the capital to Buenos Aires (Argentina), Medellín, Cartagena and Cúcuta (Colombia). On March 6 it will inaugurate flights to Quito and on April 4 to Guayaquil (Ecuador).
