Korean Air orders 20 additional Airbus A321neo jets

Korean Air announced that it has placed an order for 20 additional Airbus A321neo aircraft as part of its plans to modernize the fleet.

The carrier’s A321neo aircraft seat 182 passengers configured in two classes: eight in Prestige Class and 174 in Economy Class.

Korean Air has taken delivery of eight aircraft from its initial order of 30. These aircraft will be deployed on short- and medium-haul routes to serve the airline’s networks in Southeast Asia, China and Japan.

“The A321neo is in line with Korean Air’s commitment to reduce carbon footprint while offering exceptional services. Its design, advanced technology and spacious interior redefine the travel experience,” said Jong Seok (Jason) Yoo, Executive Vice President and Chief Safety and Operations Officer of Korean Air.

The airline will take delivery of 110 new state-of-the-art aircraft over the next few years, including A321neos, 10 Boeing 787-9s, 20 Boeing 787-10s and 30 Boeing 737-8s.
