LATAM Airlines has just become the first airline authorized by the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to perform special take-off procedures at Santos Dumont Airport (Rio de Janeiro).
This is the RNP AR DP type takeoff, which allows aircraft to take off in weather conditions with reduced visibility.

According to ANAC, this is an “innovative authorization, without regulatory precedent in the world, which brings great benefit to Rio de Janeiro airport users, who face frequent flight disruptions and delays due to weather”.
With an average of 90 flights per day at Santos Dumont, LATAM is currently the company that cancels the fewest flights in Brazil, with a 98.73% regularity rate in the last 12 months.
