Avianca has opened a call for women seeking to become pilots, thanks to its “El Cielo es de Ellas” program, which includes 20 scholarships that will cover 100% of the cost of their studies. Those interested will have the opportunity to apply until February 9, 2024.
The initiative will be available in five cities in Colombia: Bogotá, Barranquilla, Medellín, Cali and Villavicencio.
Requirements to apply
- Photocopy of citizenship card (both sides)
- Resume
- High school diploma or certificate of graduation
- Proficiency test certification
- Certification of English level B2
- Certificate of affiliation to EPS (issued less than 1 month ago)
- Judicial record certificate (from the National Police)
- Disciplinary record certificate (from the Attorney General’s Office)
- Certificate of tax records (from the Comptroller’s Office)
- Two (2) original and signed personal references.
- Essay of 2,500 words describing why you want to become a pilot and how you believe a woman contributes to the airline business and industry.

Through the scholarship program ‘the sky is theirs’, we seek to facilitate access to quality education in five of the best academies in different cities in the country, in addition to the opportunity to work at Avianca,” said the airline’s vice president of communications, María Carolina Cortés.
