Copa Airlines announces reactivation of Boeing 737 MAX 9 operations

Copa Airlines announced Thursday that it has received authorization for the twenty-one (21) aircraft that had been temporarily suspended, following the Airworthiness Directive issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to complete the rigorous inspection process required and resume operations under the highest safety standards.

The airline indicated that the inspections are being carried out by Copa Airlines’ professional technicians, following the highest quality standards and with the supervision of Panama’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). They estimate that this process will be completed within the next 24 hours.

Copa Airlines announced that it will be gradually reactivating flights that had previously been cancelled, starting today, Thursday, January 25, until returning to a full schedule on Sunday, January 28.
