Copa Airlines announced Thursday that it has received authorization for the twenty-one (21) aircraft that had been temporarily suspended, following the Airworthiness Directive issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to complete the rigorous inspection process required and resume operations under the highest safety standards.
The airline indicated that the inspections are being carried out by Copa Airlines’ professional technicians, following the highest quality standards and with the supervision of Panama’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). They estimate that this process will be completed within the next 24 hours.

Copa Airlines announced that it will be gradually reactivating flights that had previously been cancelled, starting today, Thursday, January 25, until returning to a full schedule on Sunday, January 28.
In addition, it is offering new options for passengers whose itineraries have been affected:
- Passengers who have confirmed a new travel itinerary may change to a new flight at no additional charge, if desired.
- Passengers who have not yet confirmed a new travel itinerary after their original flight was affected may choose a new flight by calling the call center or by visiting a sales office, airport or their travel agent.
- Passengers whose tickets are already in the refund process and wish to travel will need to purchase a new ticket.
The airline maintains the recommendation to its passengers to check the status of their flight before going to the airport.
