Colombia recorded historic air passenger mobilization in 2023

Colombia’s Civil Aeronautics presented this Wednesday the passenger mobilization report for the year 2023.

According to figures consolidated by the Analytical Office, about 49,459,000 passengers were mobilized to and from airports in Colombia during 2023. This represents a growth of 2.9% compared to 2022 when 48,073,000 passengers were mobilized.

The number of international flight travelers between January and December 2023, which had the highest growth by reaching an absolute change of 4.45 million, was 19,756,000, up 29.1% from the 15,306,000 reported in 2022.

As for domestic flight passengers, there was a -9.3% drop, from 32,767,000 in 2022 to 29,703,000 in 2023.

During the month of December 2023, the total number of passengers mobilized registered a historical growth of 13.7% with respect to the same month of the previous year. A total of 4,880,000 passengers were mobilized in the last month of the year.

For the Civil Aeronautics, these figures signify a sustained recovery of air transportation despite the challenges registered during the year 2023.
