United Airlines said Wednesday that it plans to resume daily flights between Newark and Tel Aviv in March, the first step toward restoring passenger and cargo service suspended in October 2023.
The initial Newark-Tel Aviv flights on March 2 and 4 will stop in Munich to ensure that all service providers are prepared to offer nonstop service to and from Newark. There are no scheduled departures from Newark to Tel Aviv on March 3 and 5. The airline’s goal is to resume daily nonstop service to Tel Aviv beginning March 6.

United conducted a detailed safety analysis to make this decision, which included close collaboration with safety experts and government officials in the United States and Israel. It also worked closely with the Air Line Pilots Association and the Association of Flight Attendants to develop protocols to ensure their safety and that they are well informed.
The airline said it will continue to monitor the situation in Tel Aviv and adjust the schedule as warranted, including changes to the resumption of service from Newark announced today. Flights from San Francisco, Washington Dulles and Chicago O’Hare will be evaluated for resumption beginning in the fall.
