Japan Airlines (JAL) announced Thursday, following its board of directors meeting, the decision to purchase a total of 42 aircraft as part of its fleet renewal plan: 21 Airbus A350-900s, 11 A321neo and 10 Boeing 787-9s.
The objective of the A350-900 and B787 is to enhance and expand the capacity of JAL’s international operations, with a primary focus on regions such as North America, Asia, and India where future growth is expected.

For domestic routes, the airline will add 11 Airbus A321neo aircraft to upgrade its current fleet of Boeing 767 aircraft. In addition, it will introduce 21 Boeing 737-8 aircraft to replace its Boeing 737-800 from 2026.
