ITA Airways inaugurated this Sunday its new non-stop route between Rome-Fiumicino and Chicago-O’Hare, its seventh destination in North America.
The route will operate six weekly frequencies and from June it will be a daily flight.
“We are proud to be here today and launch the new non-stop flight between Chicago and Rome. This new destination, the seventh in North America, further enriches ITA Airways’ intercontinental network and consolidates our expansion into the United States, which is the first international market for our company,” said Emiliana Limosani Chief Commercial Officer ITA Airways and CEO Volare.

With the new intercontinental destinations the airline will open this summer, including direct flights between Rome and Toronto starting May 10, the airline will offer 140 weekly flights between Italy and North America at the peak of the season.
In May ITA will launch direct connections to Riyadh, in June it will be the turn of non-stop flights to Accra and Kuwait City, in July to Dakar and in August to Jeddah. In addition, at the height of the summer season, the airline will add 11 seasonal routes, selected among the most popular tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, such as Greece, Spain, Croatia and the Italian islands with Rhodes, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Heraklion, Corfu, Split, Kefalonia, Lampedusa, Sardinia and Pantelleria.
The new intercontinental destinations for summer 2024 join the airline’s existing direct long-haul flights to New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington, San Francisco, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Tokyo and New Delhi.
