LATAM Airlines Group recorded a historic operational quarter in capacity (ASK) and passenger traffic (RPK), as well as in the number of passengers mobilized during the quarter, according to operational statistics for March 2024 reported today by the group that provide an overview of the quarter as a whole.
In the first three months of the year, the LATAM group transported 20.2 million passengers, representing an increase of 19.4% compared to the same period of 2023. This is explained by the 32.5% increase in passengers carried in the international segment, 26.0% in the domestic markets of the subsidiaries in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, and 9.1% in the domestic market of the subsidiary in Brazil. In March of this year alone, the LATAM group transported 6.7 million passengers, 16.9% more than in the same month of 2023.

With respect to capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), in the first quarter of the year, the LATAM group increased its consolidated supply by 17.5% versus the first quarter of the previous year, exceeding 2019 levels by 1.2%. Specifically in the month of March, the group increased its consolidated capacity by 17.8%.
Consolidated passenger traffic (measured in revenue passenger-kilometers – RPK) grew 22.3% this quarter compared to the same period last year. In March, passenger traffic grew 22.2% compared to the same month of 2023, driven by a 31.1% increase in international demand, a 17.1% increase in domestic demand from the subsidiaries in Chile, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador, and an 11.8% increase in domestic demand from the Brazilian subsidiary.
Given the above, the consolidated occupancy factor for the month of March reached 83.1%, which represents an increase of 3.0 percentage points compared to the same month of 2023, highlighting the increase of 5.1 percentage points in the occupancy factor of the Brazilian subsidiary during this period.
In cargo, capacity (measured in available ton-kilometers – ATK) the LATAM group increased by 13.8% compared to March 2023, reaching 655 million available ton-kilometers.
