Avianca announced this Tuesday that, as of May 15 of this year, all passengers 14 years of age or younger must travel with their parents or a duly authorized responsible adult over the age of 18. Only those who comply with this requirement will be allowed to board.
If tickets were purchased before May 15, 2024, passengers will board after approaching the airport counter to complete the check-in process.

With the implementation of this policy, the minimum age for a minor to travel unaccompanied by a responsible adult (over 18 years of age) on flights operated by Avianca is 15 years of age.
The airline recommended to all its customers to confirm the requirements or authorizations necessary for the departure and entry of minors with the corresponding immigration authority of each country. In addition, the airline reiterated that it does not provide unaccompanied minor or recommended minor service on any of its routes.
