Since the fourth quarter of 2023, Avion Express has been in the process of obtaining the Air Operator’s Certificate for its subsidiary Avion Express Brasil, and expects to start ACMI operations during the last quarter of 2024.
According to Darius Kajokas, CEO of Avion Express, ACMI, as a business model, is well positioned in different continents of the world and is gaining greater presence in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
“It is a great honor for us to join ALTA. The Latin America and Caribbean region has been a strategic focus for Avion Express over the past few years and will continue to be for many years to come,” commented Kajokas.
In order to further consolidate Avion Express Brazil’s position, the company plans to start providing its ACMI services to a much wider group of customers in the Latin America and Caribbean region, thus bringing financial and operational benefits to local airlines and passengers.
“Avion Express joins ALTA at a crucial time for the aviation industry in Latin America and the Caribbean: a region that has firmly demonstrated the essential role of air transport for its socio-economic development,” said José Ricardo Botelho, Executive Director and CEO of ALTA.
