This year Skytrax celebrated the 25th version of the World Airline Awards in London, known as the “Oscars of the airline industry”, where passengers from all over the world participate each year in the largest airline satisfaction survey.
Once again, in this edition of 2024 LATAM Airlines was recognized in two categories, as Best Airline in South America for the fifth consecutive time, and Best Airline Staff in South America for three years in a row.
“It is a great honor to receive the Best Airline in South America category for the fifth consecutive year and we are very proud of our staff, who for the third consecutive year have achieved the Best Airline Staff in South America category. These awards are taken with great responsibility by the entire group, and motivate us to remain committed to the experience of each of our customers,” said Paulo Miranda, LATAM Airlines Group’s Vice President of Customers.

LATAM has recently implemented several improvements in its service, which has motivated passengers to choose them as winners in these categories. These include the constant renovation of cabins with the incorporation of new ergonomic seats that improve travel comfort, as well as the continuous updating of the LATAM Play in-flight entertainment platform, with a constant incorporation of content, features and exclusive titles from platforms such as Paramount+, Max and Disney+.
On the other hand, the culinary offer features a recipe program that emphasizes the cultural-gastronomic heritage of South America, with the help of female chefs representing the different regional cuisines on board. This initiative, which seeks to give visibility to female chefs who are growing in the gastronomic scene of their respective regions, aims to enrich the onboard experience of passengers with the authentic flavors of the different countries of South America. So far, 10 chefs have already presented their dishes, of which six are from Brazil, two from Chile, one from Peru and one from Ecuador.
At the same time, the company has worked to invest in the digitalization of people’s experiences, focusing on self-service mechanisms inside and outside the airport, as well as in the development of customer relationship programs focused on empathy and personalization of each interaction with passengers.
These awards are in addition to two other recognitions announced that LATAM Group received a few days ago: “Best Onboard Sustainability” at the Onboard Hospitality Awards 2024, for the second consecutive year, and where it also received the “Highly Commended” mention for the categories “Best Onboard Entertainment” and “Catering Innovation of the Year”; and the “Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier for South America 2024”, awarded by Pax International Awards, for the fifth year.
